New Nepali Year 2065-Yes we can change.

New year is an event that happens when culture celebrates the end of one year and beginning of next year. Nepal's high-mountain people use yet another calendar, derived from the Tibetan and Chinese calendars, with its New Year falling in mid-February. The Nepal Sambat will not vanish. More than 400 years after Europe adopted the Gregorian calendar, Easter is still scheduled by a far older lunar calendar. The same will be true in Nepal: major holidays will remain tied to NS dates, and new year festivities will occur in fall, winter and spring.

Change is to add, make something different in different way by different means. Change is concerned with action. Change in our country have been observed though by stepping down the autocratic rule of King. Yes we can change. It seems that this new year 2065 we are doing something different totally different. It is good for adaptability in new environment. This time around everybody is severely waiting for the results of constituency assembly election results. Maoist, Nepali Congress, Forum and many more supporters are eagerly waiting with patience about the result which will decide to write a new constituency in Nepal. In 1999 the Nepal government declared that citizen, Shankhadhar Shakhwaa, a national hero. Who is going to be declared a national hero this New year ?.

We all want peace: peace of mind, peace in the family and community, between countries, peace with our environment. There is scarcely anyone who does not yearn for peace. One day, My wife asked a very good question that, "how many of us are prepared to pay the price of peace?" We need to love each other; have compassion and be prepared to sacrifice for one another and work for togetherness and peace. Love and peace will see all people united by the bonds of brotherhood, moving onward and forward. She also greatly visualizes what I am unexpectedly seeing today. She said religion and politics will be similar in coming days in Nepal. We only speak of politics and religion; we do not bear witness to it in deeds of daily living, to the teachings of the great prophets, it is life that is needed, not words. we may recite prayers, like reciting of "vote for me, my party" , chant hymns and sing songs of praise; you may read from the scriptures and frequent places of worship but if you do not imbibe at least some of the wisdom, as we often neglect in our Nepali Politics, are we any better than a tape recorder? We may write wonderful commentaries on the building new Nepal similar to Switzerland or some holy scriptures in religion or any other world scriptures, but if you do not reflect the wisdom of these scriptures in word and action, how are we any better than a desktop printer? For the better political situation in our country we ought not to be kept out of this vision.

One day a friend ask me that "Do you believe Nepal is going to change from New Year 2065 ?" I said, “Yes we can”. We can change and we will change; we enjoy the advantage of change, we like our country and its leaders, men, workers, student, engineer, scientist and each one of to contribute for the well being of country and society. Just to bring the change. One should believe that, “we ourselves are responsible for our sufferings. Changes should be brought about within ourselves; once we are changed definitely our country will change.” Life is very simple and straight forward in our country may be that is because of the nature and climate Nepali's are sharing with world. It is not the muscles that are strong; it is the heart and mind that should be strong. We Nepali people are born with strong heart and mind, may be it is because of the environment and climate. Yes definitely from this new year onwards, we are can really feel, hear, see, smell and listen change.

“E should not stand for excuses but E should stands for efforts”. One example is worth thousand theories, we should set and example to world. we need to go by firmly believing in what I would suggest is “doing”. Or more precisely, add “ing” in the verb like do, learn, walk, talk, watch, contribute, fight so on. If we learn to live in present we will know we are changing ourselves, our society, our country and to some extent the entire world. By the informal observation it is seen mainly in yongsters in our country that we are more talking unlike talking to make useless useful therefore I would conclude by saying that this New Year 2065 Let us improve ourselves, by this quote-“Just speak less and do more.”
